Hi! I’m Estefany
(But everyone calls me Estefy)
Background
I am a writer and translator, fluent in both Spanish and English. My interests include the interaction between digital media and content creation, reflected in my knowledge and approach to research, technical writing, desktop publishing, and web content development. I hold a creative yet analytical approach to creating content, and thanks to my background in writing and rhetoric, I have developed projects that embrace digital technologies yet employ specific rhetorical approaches to ensure a positive response and user experience from the intended audience.
Work and Education
Some of my projects include a digital magazine surrounding topics in writing that served as the precursor for the creation of my M.A. program’s first digital magazine, MAPWriting, and a variety of research-based projects presented through means outside research essays, including podcast episodes, videos, and websites created using both HTML and CMS platforms. I am working on publishing a chapter about my identity as an immigrant scholar in training and how my story of immigration informs my decision to be part of the field of academia.
I hold a B.A. in English with a concentration in writing and rhetoric from Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) and an M.A. in Professional Writing from Kennesaw State University (KSU).
Outside of Work
Outside of work, I am an amateur chef (at least I would like to think I am). I love to cook and show my love for special people through a good dish. I also love a good book and an even more awesome puzzle. Monopoly and Sequence are my go-to “when-the-power-is-out” entertainment.
